1. The Church Is the People of God.

교회는 하나님의 백성이다.

"But you are a chosen people, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, God's special possession, that you may declare the praises of Him who called you out of darkness into His wonderful light." (1 Peter 2:9)

"그러나 너희는 택하신 족속이요 왕 같은 제사장들이요 거룩한 나라요 그의 소유가 된 백성이니, 이는 너희를 어두운 데서 불러내어 그의 기이한 빛에 들어가게 하신 이의 아름다운 덕을 선포하게 하려 하심이라." (베드로전서 2:9)

The Church does not belong to the world but to God.
교회는 세상에 속한 공동체가 아니라 하나님께 속한 공동체이다.

Its identity begins with God's gracious calling rather than human effort.

2. The Church Is the Body of Christ.

교회는 그리스도의 몸이다.

"Now you are the body of Christ, and each one of you is a part of it." (1 Corinthians 12:27)

"너희는 그리스도의 몸이요 지체의 각 부분이라." (고린도전서 12:27)

Christ is the Head of the Church.
그리스도는 교회의 머리이시다.

Every believer has a unique calling and gift for building up the Church.
모든 성도는 교회를 세우기 위한 고유한 부르심과 은사를 받았다.

The Church reveals Christ's presence through unity, love, and faithful service.
교회는 하나 됨과 사랑, 그리고 신실한 섬김을 통해 그리스도의 임재를 드러낸다.

3. The Church Is the Light and Salt of the World.

교회는 세상의 빛과 소금이다.

"You are the light of the world... Let your light shine before others, that they may see your good deeds and glorify your Father in heaven." (Matthew 5:14–16)

"너희는 세상의 빛이라... 이같이 너희 빛이 사람 앞에 비치게 하여 그들로 너희 착한 행실을 보고 하늘에 계신 너희 아버지께 영광을 돌리게 하라." (마태복음 5:14-16)

The Church must not hide from the world.
교회는 세상을 피하거나 숨는 공동체가 되어서는 안 된다.

Instead, it is called to transform society through truth, holiness, justice, and love.

4. The Church Is Sent into the World as God's Missionary Community.

교회는 하나님의 선교 공동체로 세상에 파송되었다.

"As the Father has sent Me, I am sending you." (John 20:21)

"아버지께서 나를 보내신 것 같이 나도 너희를 보내노라." (요한복음 20:21)

The Church exists not for itself but for God's mission.
교회는 자신을 위해 존재하는 것이 아니라 하나님의 선교를 위해 존재한다.

Its mission is to proclaim the gospel, make disciples, and bear witness to Christ among all nations.
교회의 사명은 복음을 전하고 제자를 삼으며 모든 민족 가운데 그리스도를 증언하는 것이다.

5. The Church Proclaims the Kingdom of God.

교회는 하나님 나라를 선포하는 공동체이다.

"Seek first His kingdom and His righteousness." (Matthew 6:33)

"너희는 먼저 그의 나라와 그의 의를 구하라." (마태복음 6:33)

The Church is a visible sign of God's reign on earth.
교회는 이 땅에서 하나님의 통치를 드러내는 가시적인 표지이다.

Its mission extends beyond personal salvation to the renewal of families, societies, cultures, and creation.
교회의 사명은 개인의 구원을 넘어 가정과 사회, 문화와 창조세계를 새롭게 하는 데까지 확장된다.

6. The Church Is Called to Love and Serve the World.

"For even the Son of Man did not come to be served, but to serve." (Mark 10:45)

The Church follows Christ by serving the poor, the weak, and the marginalized.

In an age of environmental crisis, the Church is called to practice faithful stewardship of God's creation.

8. The Church Lives in Hope of the New Creation.

교회는 새 창조의 소망 가운데 살아간다.

"Then I saw a new heaven and a new earth." (Revelation 21:1)

The Church lives with the hope that God will restore all things.
교회는 하나님께서 만물을 새롭게 회복하실 것이라는 소망 가운데 살아간다.

This hope empowers believers to live faithfully in the present while anticipating Christ's glorious return.
이 소망은 성도들이 그리스도의 영광스러운 재림을 기다리며 현재의 삶 속에서도 신실하게 살아가도록 힘을 준다.

The Church is God's holy people, the Body of Christ, and a missionary community sent into the world.
교회는 하나님의 거룩한 백성이며, 그리스도의 몸이며, 세상으로 파송된 선교 공동체이다.

Its identity is rooted in Christ, and its mission is to glorify God by proclaiming the gospel, making disciples, serving the world, pursuing justice and peace, caring for creation, and witnessing to the coming Kingdom of God.
